AUGUSTA, Maine — The Augusta School Board has announced that all regularly scheduled school board meetings will henceforth be held in the cafeteria of the Capital Area Technical Center (CATC). This decision reflects the Board’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive community engagement, improving accessibility for parents and community members, and enhancing the safety and comfort of meeting environments.
“This location will offer greater convenience and, we hope, improved access for parents and families,” said Superintendent Mike Tracy. “We believe the environment will be more welcoming and conducive to open dialogue — allowing our community to remain focused on what matters most: the education and well-being of our students.”
The CATC cafeteria provides a more spacious and informal setting than the previous meeting venue, reducing barriers to participation and creating an atmosphere that encourages community involvement. The Augusta School Board remains committed to transparency and public engagement in all aspects of district governance.
