A Message from the Office of the Superintendent

Welcome Back Letter to Families

Opening the 2025-2026 School Year

Aug 25, 2025

Dear Augusta Families,

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!  We are excited to start another great year with you and your children.  Our goal is to give every student the best education possible so they can succeed in the future.

This year, we are continuing to work on “Making School Matter,” for all students.  First, we want to make learning even better for all students.  We use information about how students learn to help each child do their best.  We are always looking for new innovative ways to help every student succeed.

Second, we are working hard to make our schools run smoother and more efficiently.  This means creating clear systems so we can communicate better with families and make sure everything works well in our schools.  We want everyone to understand what we are doing and why we are doing it.

Third, we want families and community members to be more involved in our schools.  When parents and community helpers work with us, students do better. We are working on creating more engaging ways for you to be part of your child's education.

Over the summer, our teachers and staff got our schools ready for students.  We want to thank our custodians and ground crews because our buildings look fantastic and are ready for your children to come back to school!

Your help makes a big difference in your child's learning.  Please stay involved with what your child is learning at school.  Come to school events when you can.  Talk with your child's teachers and the principal.  They will tell you more about special programs throughout the year.  Here is the 2025-26 student school year calendar.

Thank you for partnering with us as we teach your children.  Here in the Augusta Schools, we help every  student do well and be prepared for their future.

Sincerely,

Mike Tracy
