From the Principal's Desk!
We have have prepared snow day road maps for each grade level to go home in case of a remote snow day. This will be announced by 1 pm on the day before and we will send home food bags. We will only do remote days if we know in advance it is possible. We will still have regular snow days that are made up.
November brings a time for us to celebrate with our own families and be thankful. I am thankful for the opportunity to work in this Farrington School community with such a caring staff and respectful students.
Time is certain to fly by. There will be snow on the ground before we know it!
Best wishes,
Mrs. Teresa M. Beaudoin, Principal
Farrington Spotlight on PBIS
November's character trait is Thankfulness. Here is our definition: wanting to thank the person or thing that did something good for you or made you feel happy. Some of our sixth graders have once again made a video with Ms. Shelly, our school counselor to share with our school community.
We have bulletin boards where students are adding people and things to be Thankful for. We also have a Be the "I" in Kind board for Kindness Day on November 13th.
Farrington's Holiday Shop
We will be holding our annual Holiday Shop this year and are looking for donations. Any new or gently used items that you would like to give to our Shop, please bring to school and place in the Holiday Shop Box in the lobby!
We also need new or gently used gift bags, sticker gift tags, and wrapping paper.
This is a great way for students to purchase small items for their family during the holiday season!
We will send more information next month.
A Note From Nurse Bobbie
Flu season is approaching! If you have not gotten your flu shot yet, it would be a good idea to get one.
As the weather gets colder and wetter, have students dress appropriately for the Maine winters. Sending your child to school with dry clothing and socks in their backpacks in case they get wet outside at recess is always a good idea!
If your child has a fever, vomiting or has diarrhea, they need to stay home. They can return to school when they have been symptom free for 24 hours without the help of medication.
Dean's Memo
In September our student attendance rate was 93%, and 92% in October.
At our Student of the Month Assembly, the 3rd grade was rewarded with Attendance Matters trophies, and students got to pick from the prize wall. 3rd grade had a 97% attendance rate! Nice work grade 3!
As a school we would like to set a goal of 94% and build from there!
Each day that we meet our goal of 94% there will be random prizes and mini celebrations! Even if your student has an appointment and needs to arrive late, or leave early, we would love to see them at school!
Attendance Matters!
