Dear Families,

What a wonderful first week of school we’ve had! It has been so exciting to see our students walk through the doors with big smiles, ready to learn, make new friends, and take on new challenges.

This week, our classrooms have been full of energy, curiosity, and joy. Students are already getting to know their teachers, learning classroom routines, and jumping into exciting lessons. We’ve seen so many great examples of kindness, teamwork, and respect. It’s clear we are starting the year off in the best way possible!

We are very proud of how smoothly the week went. Thank you for helping your child be prepared and ready for school. When schools and families work together, amazing things can happen. We are happy to be your partners this year as we help your child grow both academically and socially.

In this first newsletter, you’ll find some important reminders, and a look at what’s coming up. We have so many exciting things planned for the year, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

If you ever have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Communication is important, and we are always here to help and support your child.

Thank you again for a great first week. We’re off to a fantastic start, and we’re looking forward to an amazing school year ahead!

Warm regards,
Tina Brackley McDonald

Theme for the Start of the Year

Kindness and Respect

As we begin the school year, we are placing a strong emphasis on creating a positive and respectful school environment. This includes working with students to ensure that all language used at school is appropriate and that our classrooms, hallways, and shared spaces remain safe and welcoming for everyone.

We are also continuing to encourage kindness, empathy, and mutual respect in all interactions. With your support at home, we can help our students grow into thoughtful, respectful individuals who contribute positively to our school community.

Thank you for being our partners in helping students learn, grow, and thrive—both academically and socially.

Attendance Matters

We are so excited to share that attendance during the first week of school was beyond amazing—thank you for your support in getting your children here on time and ready to learn!

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in your child’s success this year. We encourage families to schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible, and when students do need to leave for appointments during the day, please help us by ensuring they come back promptly to minimize missed learning time.

If your child will be absent for planned trips or activities outside of vacation weeks, please remember to fill out the planned absence form ahead of time. This helps us keep accurate records and supports your child’s continued learning.

Thank you for partnering with us to make this school year a successful one!
