March 2026

Dear Hussey Families,

March is a month that always brings a sense of renewed energy to our school. As we head toward spring, our classrooms are full of meaningful learning, growing independence, and strong routines that are helping students thrive.

This time of year is especially important for academic growth. Students are building stamina, deepening their understanding of key skills, and continuing to make progress toward their goals. We appreciate your partnership in supporting learning at home reading each night, encouraging problem-solving, and maintaining consistent attendance all make a significant difference.

Attendance continues to be a priority. While we absolutely want students to stay home when they are sick, regular daily attendance when students are healthy ensures they don’t miss valuable instruction and classroom community experiences. Every school day matters!

March is also a time when we see students demonstrating kindness, collaboration, and responsibility in powerful ways. Thank you for reinforcing these important character traits at home. Together, we are helping our students grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

We are grateful for your continued support and partnership. We are looking forward to a strong and successful month ahead!

Warm regards,
Tina McDonald
Principal

Attendances

In February, our overall attendance dipped, and we know how important consistent attendance is for student success. While we absolutely encourage families to keep students home when they are sick, being present each day when healthy makes a significant difference in learning.

For the month of March, we are setting a school-wide goal of improving our daily attendance from 91% to 93% . Every day in school matters instruction builds daily, and even one missed day can mean missing important learning, practice, and connection with peers.

We appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive on time and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make March our strongest attendance month yet!

As we continue through the school year, we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing our core values of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. These expectations guide how we learn, interact, and care for one another at school each day. We encourage families to take a few moments to review these values at home and talk with your child about what they look like in the classroom, on the playground, and in our community. When students hear consistent messages at school and at home, it strengthens their understanding and helps them make positive choices every day.

Thank you for supporting our Hussey Bears in being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible!
