January Newsletter

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed a restful and joyful holiday break filled with time to reconnect, recharge, and celebrate together. We are excited to welcome students and families back as we begin this next chapter of the school year together.

As we return to school, our focus is on reestablishing routines, expectations, and a strong sense of belonging for all students. Consistent routines help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn, and our staff will be spending time reviewing classroom expectations and reinforcing positive behaviors to support a smooth transition back into the school day.

As winter weather continues, we also want to remind families of the importance of sending students to school prepared for outdoor recess. Appropriate winter gear—such as coats, hats, gloves or mittens, snow pants, and boots—helps ensure that students can enjoy recess safely and comfortably. Outdoor play is an important part of the school day, and being dressed for the weather allows students to make the most of this time.

When determining whether it is safe for students to go outside, we use a temperature guideline of 10 degrees or a “feels like” temperature of 10 degrees. When temperatures fall below this threshold, we modify plans to ensure student safety. Having proper winter clothing available allows us to take advantage of outdoor recess whenever conditions permit.

We look forward to a productive and successful start to the new year and appreciate your continued partnership in supporting our students. Thank you for all you do to help make our school a safe, supportive, and engaging place to learn.

Educationally Yours,

Mrs. Gauthier
